Hammarby Sjöstad IF's Gordon Banks played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Domingos Santiago in the 15th minute of play. Gordon Banks showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oliviero Vuelta, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Hammarby Sjöstad IF's Gordon Banks proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Hammarby Sjöstad IF from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Pedro Toledo took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Gordon Banks to make any attempt to save it. In the 28th minute of the match, Domingos Santiago tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Gordon Banks saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Mieszko Karanowski came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Hammarby Sjöstad IF's Bernt Bergqvist. But to his dismay, Bernt Bergqvist quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Mieszko Karanowski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernt Bergqvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Gordon Banks was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Oliviero Vuelta showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 35 minute of play. 38 minutes into the match, Marzagão's goal looked a bit too open when Bernt Bergqvist came free, but Mieszko Karanowski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Oliviero Vuelta could shoot a difficult shot in the 42nd minute, which Gordon Banks however easily saved by the left post. 44 minutes into the game, Marzagão's Pedro Toledo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gordon Banks made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

Mieszko Karanowski made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Stefan Broman sent off a good shot on target. Hammarby Sjöstad IF's Gordon Banks played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oliviero Vuelta in the 60th minute of play. Ragnar Söderström was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Gordon Banks took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oliviero Vuelta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hammarby Sjöstad IF's Gordon Banks played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oliviero Vuelta in the 73rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oliviero Vuelta in the 76th minute of play forced Hammarby Sjöstad IF's goalkeeper Gordon Banks to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stefan Broman in the 82nd minute of play forced Marzagão's goalkeeper Mieszko Karanowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Valério Mazza hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Marzagão's Mieszko Karanowski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernt Bergqvist in the 87th minute of play. After 89 played minutes Marzagão got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Toledo. In the 90th minute Stefan Broman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mieszko Karanowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marzagão's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
