A nice corner shot did that Per-Olof Åkesson got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Óscar Cordoba quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 7 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sporting de Gijón's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Sun Lin was slow to take the kick. During this time Jagiellonia Denver's players had a chance to rest. Sun Lin made a great header on Jagiellonia Denver's corner, it was just that Sporting de Gijón's Óscar Cordoba managed to reach the ball for a save.
