The audience thought a goal was coming when Denis Bonadona got free with Marcinho Secco in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 4th minute Sporting de Gijón were awarded a corner. Saturnino Curcio went to the cornerflag to take it. Saturnino Curcio was extremely unlucky when he, in the 6th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 9th minute Epifanio Marin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Fernendo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Matias Bilintx sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcinho Secco made an important save on a dangerous shot by Denis Bonadona in the 12th minute. With a little luck, FC WOUDOO's Marcinho Secco got control of the ball when Matias Bilintx tried to sneak it across the goal line. 16 minutes into the game, Matias Bilintx cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Marcinho Secco was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpected shot in the 20th minute by Denis Bonadona got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. With a little luck, FC WOUDOO's Marcinho Secco got control of the ball when Denis Bonadona tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Alejandro Rufo fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sporting de Gijón's protests and gave Alejandro Rufo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 23rd match minute, Sporting de Gijón was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alejandro Rufo to maneuver through the defense. Saturnino Curcio ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Sporting de Gijón's corner Saturnino Curcio fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Marcinho Secco quite easily take care of the ball. Matias Bilintx could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Marcinho Secco made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Matias Bilintx kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Marcinho Secco. That made the score 2-0 in the 32 minute of play. In the 34th match minute, FC WOUDOO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gerlach Zischer to maneuver through the defense. Marcinho Secco was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Denis Bonadona. Marcinho Secco made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Denis Bonadona sent off a good shot on target. Matias Bilintx kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 45thth minute. Though ot was a great shot FC WOUDOO's keeper Marcinho Secco was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. The corner led Sporting de Gijón's Saturnino Curcio to fire away a dangerous shot which Marcinho Secco despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
Rafael Krapols fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dante Fernendo having to interfere. Sporting de Gijón's Dante Fernendo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Krapols in the 59th minute of play. Marcinho Secco stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Matias Bilintx's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. 61 minutes into the game, Saturnino Curcio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Marcinho Secco was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Venancio Emesto kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. After having played for 68 minutes, Rafael Krapols managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC WOUDOO's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rafael Krapols was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Sporting de Gijón's Matias Bilintx in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC WOUDOO's goalie prevented a goal. Marcinho Secco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Venancio Emesto in the 76th minute of play. Marcinho Secco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matias Bilintx, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 83 minutes into the match, FC WOUDOO's goal looked a bit too open when Matias Bilintx came free, but Marcinho Secco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 87th minute Sporting de Gijón were awarded a corner. Saturnino Curcio went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner went over the outstretched arms of FC WOUDOO's goalie and right to Saturnino Curcio. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. FC WOUDOO's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. When Kim Mayer fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC WOUDOO's protests and gave Kim Mayer a yellow card for diving instead. In the 89th minute, Kim Mayer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Matias Bilintx in the 93rd managed to get into a good position.
