Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Kurt Hamrin started the match with the kick off. After a rather tough play, Skövde AIK's Krister Uggstedt got a free kick in the 3rd minute. In the 4th minute Chen Ao Fan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kurt Hamrin in the 6th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wilson Amorim prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 7 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Kurt Hamrin came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kevin Keegan in the 12th minute of the match. Knut Rudberg made in the 14th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Portugal's Daniel Pimentel. Felipe Barretos short, quick shot in the 15thth minute got Karl-Erik Norström to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Georg Norström in the 18th minute of play. Karl-Erik Norström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felipe Barreto, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Rodolfo Miranda's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Karl-Erik Norström firmly grabbed it by the left post. Faustino Almeida hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. In the 24th minute, Faustino Almeida fired away a free kick at the goal, but hit it at the wrong angle and it went over the crossbar. After 29 minutes Skövde AIK's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Felipe Barreto who took care of the corner kick. Portugal's Felipe Barreto was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Karl-Erik Norström in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 31 minutes into the match, Skövde AIK's goal looked a bit too open when Felipe Barreto came free, but Karl-Erik Norström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Georg Norström in the 36th minute of play. A throw-in in the 38th minute of the game was made by Krister Uggstedt with Kurt Hamrin as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Lu Rong Yi kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. After 41 played minutes, Portugal's Felipe Barreto shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Karl-Erik Norström came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Portugal reached it. In the 44th minute Kurt Hamrin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Viriato Moura made a kick off. Skövde AIK's Karl-Erik Norström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felipe Barreto in the 51st minute of play. In the 52nd minute Portugal were awarded a corner. Felipe Barreto went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Portugal's corner Felipe Barreto fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Karl-Erik Norström quite easily take care of the ball. In the 57th minute, Caetano Moreira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Portugal fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Caetano Moreira hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Skövde AIK's Krister Uggstedt took a good shot, in the 62nd minute, which hit the crossbar above Wilson Amorim's head, and flew over the goal. Portugal's manager was very thankful on the sidelines as his team had managed to keep the ball out of the net after some serious pressure by Skövde AIK. 65 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Kevin Keegan came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Karl-Erik Norström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Graciano Coutinho in the 67th minute of play. In the 70th minute Kevin Keegan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kevin Keegan in the 76th minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Felipe Barreto scored 3-1 in the 77th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Karl-Erik Norström, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Portugal's Bartolomeu Dias was substituted for Viriato Moura. Portugal's Felipinho Amorim was substituted for Felipe Barreto. Wilson Amorim made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kurt Hamrin in the 82nd minute. Karl-Erik Norström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bartolomeu Dias in the 85th minute of play. After some careless play in the Portugal defense, Kevin Keegan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wilson Amorim. The Portugal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wilson Amorim should have stopped the shot. After 93 minutes of play, Portugal's Bartolomeu Dias made it 4-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Karl-Erik Norström was left in no man's land by his defense there! Portugal's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
