In the 39th match minute, Hammarby IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Francesco Totti to maneuver through the defense. When Wim Wilmes came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wim Wilmes couldn't finish the play. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francesco Totti in the 57th minute of play. Holger Vester took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wim Wilmes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Celedonio Dominguez in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arnout Reekers prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Hammarby IF's Celedonio Dominguez in the 63rd minute got a chance for a shot 63rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Netherlands's goalie prevented a goal. With an all-out effort, Netherlands's Holger Vester threw himself towards the right post 67 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Wim Wilmes, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 70th minute, Isaltino Paes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hammarby IF's Anders Lindblom was substituted for Bo-Erik Wallin. Holger Vester showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lars Meesters in the 90th minute of the match. In the 94th minute, Mathijn Doctor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 95 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Gustaaf Groeneveldt. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
