Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s Davut Altınpınar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viriato Moura in the 9th minute of play. In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jan Piatek could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Wilson Amorim made a huge save. Jan Piatek took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wilson Amorim. Wilson Amorim dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. If Viriato Moura had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Portugal were furious when Graciano Coutinho was red carded, 23 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 23 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Portugal! 28 minutes into the match, Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s goal looked a bit too open when Fabricio Andrade came free, but Davut Altınpınar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fabricio Andrade scored 2-1 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Davut Altınpınar, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cenk Bostancı in the 40th minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 41st minute, Daniel Pimentel left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Portugal fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Sílvio Luiz Vieira's late challenge caught a Portugal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sílvio Luiz Vieira helped the player get up and apologised.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Viriato Moura made a kick off. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Portugal's Viriato Moura in the 52nd minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Davut Altınpınar was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- through an amazing save. In the 53rd minute Portugal were awarded a corner. Felipe Barreto went to the cornerflag to take it. Daniel Pimentel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Davut Altınpınar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- made a substitution. Gabriel Peres replaced Pedro Luiz Dantas. Kristofer Peck took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wilson Amorim. Wilson Amorim dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. 69 minutes into the match, Zbigniew Zatorski had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Wilson Amorim. Portugal's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zbigniew Zatorski was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-2. Portugal's Bartolomeu Dias was substituted for Viriato Moura. Portugal's Felipinho Amorim was substituted for Felipe Barreto. If Caetano Moreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Davut Altınpınar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bartolomeu Dias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Davut Altınpınar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Pimentel in the 78th minute of play. In the 82nd match minute, Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arí Furtado to maneuver through the defense. In the 83rd minute of the match, Bartolomeu Dias tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Davut Altınpınar saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 95th minute Bartolomeu Dias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Davut Altınpınar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 96 minutes had been played when some careless play by Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Pimentel was slow to take the kick. During this time Portugal's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Portugal's corner Daniel Pimentel fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Davut Altınpınar quite easily take care of the ball.
