Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Frank Sachs got the match started through his kick off. After 3 minutes, Sven Krakouer mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Germany and the Manchester City players grew even worse after the yellow card. Sven Krakouer hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. In the 9th minute of the match Manchester City got a corner. Germany's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Geoffrey De Bougne ran over to the corner to take the kick. Malte Schiele tried in the 9th minute to hit away a contribution but miss-kicked the ball which ended up in his own goal and left an unhappy Tommy Kahn a with quite unnecessary self made goal. Result 1-0. Frank Sachs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Germany's Tommy Kahn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Germany from getting a goal against them. After 30 played minutes Germany got a freekick which was hit by Sven Krakouer. 34 minutes into the match, Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bartlomiej Niedzwiecki. With his leg Tommy Kahn managed to avoid a goal in the 36thth minute, when Manchester City's Bartlomiej Niedzwiecki fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Frank Pearce took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frank Sachs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bartlomiej Niedzwiecki could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Tommy Kahn made a huge save. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 58th minute, Frank Sachs got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Manchester City's Leigh Peyton quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Chris Mergenthaler, made in the 62nd minute of the game. 62 minutes into the match, Manchester City's Anthony Carey sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tommy Kahn narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 64 minutes had been played when some careless play by Germany's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Germany's goalie and right to Dylon Sedgemore. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Germany's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Anthony Carey blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tommy Kahn having to make a save. Tommy Kahn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anthony Carey in the 68th minute of the match. In the 71st minute, Anthony Carey made a precise shot to the right of Tommy Kahn. Germany's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. After 73 played minutes Germany got a freekick which was hit by Ulrich Stein. Anthony Carey blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tommy Kahn having to make a save. 88 minutes into the match, Anthony Carey notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Germany's Tommy Kahn. Tommy Kahn was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Chris Mergenthaler made in the 92nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Manchester City's Leigh Peyton. There was no doubt that Manchester City were the better team. Manchester City's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
