Penalty! 22 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Perivaldo Paiva came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Valdomiro Ferraz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 24th minute of the match. When Gijsbert ter Kruimer came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gijsbert ter Kruimer couldn't finish the play. Leonardo de Godoi made a great header on Montalcino SE's corner, it was just that Netherlands's Arnout Reekers managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 30th minute Nicolas Espiridion shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 35th match minute, Montalcino SE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Almir Valadares to maneuver through the defense. When Lars Meesters fell near the penalty area in the 50th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Netherlands's protests and gave Lars Meesters a yellow card for diving instead. In the 51st minute, Lars Meesters hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Perivaldo Paiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Montalcino SE's Valdomiro Ferraz got control of the ball when Wim Wilmes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Valdomiro Ferraz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. In the 69th minute Perivaldo Paiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Netherlands's David Eikelkamp got a free kick in the 71st minute.
