Tommy Kahn was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Tommy Kahn made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Jean Fernandez sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Adrian Dreifuss hit a great ball. A hard shot by Washington Ortiz from long distance, 16 minutes into the match, got Tommy Kahn's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After 17 minutes, Adrian Dreifuss mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Germany and the São Paulo da Floresta players grew even worse after the yellow card. Adrian Dreifuss kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Jean Fernandez might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tommy Kahn. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jean Fernandez ran back to his position shaking his head. Jean Fernandez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Tommy Kahn made a huge save. Jean Fernandez had several of the Germany's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 21 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-0 score and a disappointed Tommy Kahn as he didn't even see the shot coming. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Sachs in the 25th minute of play forced São Paulo da Floresta's goalkeeper Reynaldo Maia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jean Fernandez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Tommy Kahn made a huge save. Germany's Frank Sachs got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, Jean Fernandez took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Tommy Kahn to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of São Paulo da Floresta booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frank Sachs didn't get a good kick on the ball. 46 minutes into the match, Germany's goal looked a bit too open when Bernard Sierocki came free, but Tommy Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Frank Sachs stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jean Fernandez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tommy Kahn having to make a save. Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jean Fernandez, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute.
