SC Braga's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zigmantas Gimbutas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Denmark booed when SC Braga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jon-Egil Sætre didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Zigmantas Gimbutas came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the SC Braga fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zigmantas Gimbutas couldn't finish the play. In the 19th minute, Zigmantas Gimbutas made a precise shot to the right of Keld Paulsen. Denmark's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 22nd match minute, SC Braga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yan Zhan Cheng to maneuver through the defense. 24 minutes into the game, Quintino Carvalhais cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Keld Paulsen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a little luck, SC Braga's Antonio Adán got control of the ball when Bertram Svenningsen tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a little luck, Denmark's Keld Paulsen got control of the ball when Quintino Carvalhais tried to sneak it across the goal line. 60 minutes into the match, SC Braga's Quintino Carvalhais sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Keld Paulsen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Denmark's Chris Nygaard got a free kick in the 61st minute. SC Braga's Donato Sampaio was substituted for Quintino Carvalhais. SC Braga made a substitution. When the match clock showed 81 minutes, the score became 0-7 when Zigmantas Gimbutas sped through Denmark's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Keld Paulsen. Donato Sampaio kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zigmantas Gimbutas in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Keld Paulsen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 88 minutes Denmark's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Zigmantas Gimbutas who took care of the corner kick. Alberto Malheiro was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. A throw-in in the 91st minute of the game was made by Charl De Metser with Donato Sampaio as target, who quickly passed the ball forward.
