The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Viseu United getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jorge Caetano showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 9 minutes into the match, Viseu United's goal looked a bit too open when Antal Valentin came free, but Jorge Caetano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 14 minutes into the match, Viseu United's Amado Salazar sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fodor Daniel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Fodor Daniel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amado Salazar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jorge Caetano showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.

The wind increased when Amado Salazar made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Viseu United's Teobald Jekot got a free kick in the 50th minute. With a little luck, Viseu United's Jorge Caetano got control of the ball when Antal Valentin tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Hungary booed when Viseu United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iurie Oargă didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jorge Caetano was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Antal Valentin. In the 60th minute Amado Salazar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fodor Daniel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Viseu United were awarded a corner in the 63th minute after Hungary's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Adalberto Marquez took the corner. After a defensive mix-up in Viseu United's zone, Hegedus Henrik stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jorge Caetano came out of the goal and Hegedus Henrik tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Viseu United's Valter Bentes was substituted for David Moreira. After some careless play in the Hungary defense, Ziemowit Gdowski kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fodor Daniel. The Hungary fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fodor Daniel should have stopped the shot. After 75 minutes, Hamílton Linhares mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Viseu United and the Hungary players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 75th match minute, Viseu United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hamílton Linhares to maneuver through the defense. Hungary were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
