If Gamus Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 6 minutes into the match, Spain's goalkeeper Gabriel Ascaso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fred Åkerström. In the 15th minute, Fred Åkerström made a precise shot to the right of Gabriel Ascaso. Spain's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Omar Toledo in the 19th minute of play forced Playa Malvín's goalkeeper Zé Roberto Teixeira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Spain's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Omar Toledo in the 25th minute. After taking down the ball on Spain's corner Jonathan Criado fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Zé Roberto Teixeira quite easily take care of the ball. Spain's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Omar Toledo in the 26th minute. The corner ended in Santiago Sartori almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Playa Malvín's Zé Roberto Teixeira did a great save. Zé Roberto Teixeira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Aranda in the 36th minute of the match. Zé Roberto Teixeira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adria Bielsa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 46th minute of the match Spain got a corner. Playa Malvín's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Omar Toledo ran over to the corner to take the kick. After 46 played minutes Spain got a freekick which was hit by Jonathan Criado. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Omar Toledo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
