But to his dismay, Frank Sachs quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Pepe Santoro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frank Sachs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. INDEPENDIENTE FUTBOL CLUB's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Norberto Fresco in the 13th minute. After 20 played minutes INDEPENDIENTE FUTBOL CLUB got a freekick which was hit by Cao Yue Zheng. INDEPENDIENTE FUTBOL CLUB's Pepe Santoro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frank Sachs in the 23rd minute of play. In the 24th minute Germany were awarded a corner. Frank Sachs went to the cornerflag to take it. If Petros Mousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Frank Sachs came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Germany fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frank Sachs couldn't finish the play. INDEPENDIENTE FUTBOL CLUB's Pepe Santoro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frank Sachs in the 38th minute of play. He Qiang fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tommy Kahn having to interfere. Adrian Dreifuss kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. The supporters of Germany booed when INDEPENDIENTE FUTBOL CLUB was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cao Yue Zheng didn't get a good kick on the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Frank Sachs to strike the kick off in the second half. Frank Sachs went to the cornerflag to take it. Linus Schwerner made a great header on Germany's corner, it was just that INDEPENDIENTE FUTBOL CLUB's Pepe Santoro managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 62nd match minute, INDEPENDIENTE FUTBOL CLUB was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Petros Mousa to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Frank Sachs managed to get in a good position for a shot. Germany's supporters rose to their feet, but Frank Sachs was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pepe Santoro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Frank Sachs's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Pepe Santoro firmly grabbed it by the left post. Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Petros Mousa, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. In the 66th minute Petros Mousa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Germany's Chris Mergenthaler got a free kick in the 82nd minute. 83 minutes into the match, Narciso Vergaray notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Germany's Tommy Kahn. Tommy Kahn was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Adrian Dreifuss hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. If Narciso Vergaray had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Frank Sachs came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Germany fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frank Sachs couldn't finish the play. The excitement rose when INDEPENDIENTE FUTBOL CLUB's Norberto Fresco after 96 played minutes turned away three defenders near the goal, and after that shot a ball that was too difficult for Germany's goalkeeper to hold. Score! 4-1. Germany's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
