When the match had gone on for 15 minutes, Edward Vanderstraeten put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of László Kutasi. After a rather tough play, Belgium's Nigel Devos got a free kick in the 17th minute. Belgium's Casper Claes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cahit Eker in the 18th minute of play. If Cahit Eker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Casper Claes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cahit Eker's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Belgium's Lenny Clocheret slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of László Kutasi. That made the score 2-0 after 25 minutes of play. Yuan Jian hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Belgium's goalkeeper Casper Claes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Edward Vanderstraeten could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but László Kutasi made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Academia Club's Julio-César Dely Valdés got a free kick in the 32nd minute. László Kutasi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yves Dervaux, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Severo Goiz made in the 37th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Cahit Eker immediately put the ball in play. Casper Claes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cahit Eker in the 38th minute of the match. In the 40th minute of the match Florentino Saturnin sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Casper Claes skillfully saved the ball. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Academia Club's goalkeeper László Kutasi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Through an outstanding action, after 49 minutes, László Kutasi successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Edward Vanderstraeten made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 53rd minute of play forced Academia Club's goalkeeper László Kutasi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. László Kutasi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yves Dervaux, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. The corner led Academia Club's Florentino Saturnin to fire away a dangerous shot which Casper Claes despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. With a little luck, Belgium's Casper Claes got control of the ball when Cahit Eker tried to sneak it across the goal line. Academia Club's László Kutasi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 81st minute of play. László Kutasi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edward Vanderstraeten in the 89th minute of play. In the 91st match minute, Academia Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Julio-César Dely Valdés to maneuver through the defense. In the 93rd minute Yves Dervaux shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but László Kutasi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 94th minute, Yuan Jian reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Casper Claes. The goal made the score 2-3. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Academia Club eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
