Karl-Johan Ahlqvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. In the 22nd match minute, Black Rose 1979 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Garcia to maneuver through the defense. Karl-Johan Ahlqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 25th minute David Eikelkamp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Johan Ahlqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 26 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by D.J. Gol. Karl-Johan Ahlqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lars Meesters, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 35th minute Netherlands were awarded a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer went to the cornerflag to take it. After some careless play in the Black Rose 1979 defense, Wim Wilmes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Karl-Johan Ahlqvist. The Black Rose 1979 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Karl-Johan Ahlqvist should have stopped the shot. Karl-Johan Ahlqvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 47th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gijsbert ter Kruimer to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustaaf Groeneveldt got free with Karl-Johan Ahlqvist in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 56th minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Johan Ahlqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 58th minute, Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. In the 61st minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer made a precise shot to the right of Karl-Johan Ahlqvist. Black Rose 1979's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. 68 minutes into the game, Gustaaf Groeneveldt recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Karl-Johan Ahlqvist. Gustaaf Groeneveldt showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. Sebastian Enekoitz hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Black Rose 1979's Karl-Johan Ahlqvist proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Black Rose 1979 from getting a goal against them. Gol fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Arnout Reekers quite easily take care of the ball. Black Rose 1979's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by D.J. Gol in the 80th minute. In the 83rd match minute, Black Rose 1979 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hernan Florin to maneuver through the defense. After 88 played minutes Black Rose 1979 got a freekick which was hit by D.J. Gol. After a rather tough play, Netherlands's Mathijn Doctor got a free kick in the 91st minute. Egbert Nijveldt kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. The Black Rose 1979 fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Netherlands were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
