Albérico Aires made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fletcher Main in the 27th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kian MacGregor during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Kian MacGregor hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Durães in the 32nd minute of play forced Scotland's goalkeeper Alexander Higgins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ashton Nelson hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. In the 39th minute Kayden Ward shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albérico Aires saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 39th match minute, Sporting Vila Facaia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Flávio Prada to maneuver through the defense. In the 41st minute, Fletcher Main got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alexander Higgins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alcides Pacheco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Tomé Patrício had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 64th match minute, Sporting Vila Facaia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Flávio Prada to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Scotland's Robert McNeill got a free kick in the 78th minute. With a little luck, Sporting Vila Facaia's Albérico Aires got control of the ball when Fletcher Main tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Kayden Ward had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Sporting Vila Facaia fans' excitement grew in the 92nd match minute when Sporting Vila Facaia's Alcides Pacheco looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Scotland were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Sporting Vila Facaia's much stronger midfield.
