In the 15th minute Kostas Kourtis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Gustaaf Groeneveldt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 26 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Cecilio Jerrold came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Netherlands booed when YugiPeeK ✈ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julius Wegmann didn't get a good kick on the ball. Harro Meier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gustaaf Groeneveldt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Harro Meier made a huge save. A collision led to YugiPeeK ✈ getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Erling Ballas hit a great ball. Gijsbert ter Kruimer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 47 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Kostas Kourtis came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 47 minutes, Bernd Beike put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Arnout Reekers. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gijsbert ter Kruimer to make the kick off. A collision led to Netherlands getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Lars Meesters hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 55th minute of play forced YugiPeeK ✈'s goalkeeper Harro Meier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Lars Meesters had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernd Beike, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. In the 76th minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Harro Meier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Netherlands defense, Kostas Kourtis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arnout Reekers. The Netherlands fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arnout Reekers should have stopped the shot. Arnout Reekers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kostas Kourtis in the 87th minute. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernd Beike in the 89th minute of the match. Harro Meier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
