The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sigfrido Auletta in the 3rd minute of play forced Gocław Wilga Warszawa's goalkeeper Ivar Bjurström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Italy's Eliseo Cutri managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Maciej Matela in the 8 minute of the game. 10 minutes into the match, Hugon Brzakala had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Flavio Vittori. In the 94th minute of the game Sansone Vanella made a throw-in which Zena Busacca played forward. Italy were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
