He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Fortinero hasta la muerte's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 14th match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Eikelkamp to maneuver through the defense. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bonifacio Rico in the 15th minute of play. Ciriaco Baumar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Arnout Reekers made a huge save. Through an outstanding action, after 18 minutes, Arnout Reekers successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Egbert Nijveldt kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. 20 minutes into the match, Fortinero hasta la muerte's Benedicto Mino broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 27th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Netherlands from getting a goal against them. In the 35th minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bartolo Sayvion saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 35 minutes into the match, Gijsbert ter Kruimer notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Fortinero hasta la muerte's Bartolo Sayvion. Bartolo Sayvion was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 41st minute Fortinero hasta la muerte were awarded a corner. Benedicto Mino went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Fortinero hasta la muerte's Bonifacio Rico to fire away a dangerous shot which Arnout Reekers despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 44 minutes, Arnout Reekers successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. A collision led to Fortinero hasta la muerte getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Emilio Egoitz hit a great ball. 47 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ciriaco Baumar. After the first half Netherlands were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Gijsbert ter Kruimer made the kick off in the second half. Bartolo Sayvion made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 57th minute. With a little luck, Fortinero hasta la muerte's Bartolo Sayvion got control of the ball when Wim Wilmes tried to sneak it across the goal line. David Eikelkamp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bartolo Sayvion having to interfere. 68 minutes in the game Kees Mooiweer did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Wim Wilmes. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ciriaco Baumar in the 71st minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, Netherlands's Bartolo Sayvion threw himself towards the right post 73 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Bartolo Sayvion made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent off a good shot on target. In the 75th minute Ciriaco Baumar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fortinero hasta la muerte's Bartolo Sayvion proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Fortinero hasta la muerte from getting a goal against them. With an all-out effort, Netherlands's Bartolo Sayvion threw himself towards the right post 90 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Bas Tuitert, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Gustaaf Groeneveldt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Bartolo Sayvion made a huge save. Fortinero hasta la muerte succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Netherlands had controlled the match.
