Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Bartolo Nuno made the kick off and thus started the match. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ladislao Bertran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 4 minutes into the match, Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Primitivo Fernanco narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Through an outstanding action, after 16 minutes, Primitivo Fernanco successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 20 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Pepito Santalla came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Netherlands's Wim Wilmes got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Arnout Reekers came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Boca Juniors's Bartolo Nuno. But to his dismay, Bartolo Nuno quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Boca Juniors's defense didn't have a chance, in the 35th minute, when Wim Wilmes scored to the left of an out of position Primitivo Fernanco, making the score, 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximo Bordat in the 41st minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pepito Santalla in the 45th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

In the 58th minute of the match, Maximo Bordat got a very nice opportunity to score, but Arnout Reekers was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Primitivo Fernanco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Eikelkamp in the 60th minute of play. When Wim Wilmes came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wim Wilmes couldn't finish the play. After having played for 68 minutes, Wim Wilmes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wim Wilmes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 70 minutes into the game, Wim Wilmes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Primitivo Fernanco was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Boca Juniors getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Adolfo Cresenciano hit a great ball. In the 82nd minute, Gustaaf Groeneveldt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Netherlands from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 87th minute of play forced Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Primitivo Fernanco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Primitivo Fernanco, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Netherlands fully deserved thier win.
