But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bumin Mete couldn't finish the play. Wilson Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Melchor Carlomagno, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rigoberto Ceandro in the 24th minute of the match. In the 24th match minute, NYC United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelo Gaspard to maneuver through the defense. Wilson Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ali Cengiz Peykan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Daniel Pimentel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Portugal's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Pimentel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Domingo Bide breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 43 minutes into the match, NYC United's goalkeeper Domingo Bide had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felipe Barreto. In the 43rd minute, NYC United's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Felipe Barreto fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. A sloppy throw-in by Joe Roget in the 74th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Portugal's Daniel Pimentel. Daniel Pimentel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Domingo Bide having to interfere. The supporters of Portugal booed when NYC United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albino Criston didn't get a good kick on the ball. Domingo Bide stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bartolomeu Dias's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. In the 81st minute Bartolomeu Dias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Domingo Bide saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 85 minutes into the match, NYC United's goal looked a bit too open when Caetano Moreira came free, but Domingo Bide reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as NYC United's Ali Cengiz Peykan slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Wilson Amorim. That made the score 0-3 after 86 minutes of play. Felipinho Amorim might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Domingo Bide. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Felipinho Amorim ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Portugal's Daniel Pimentel got a free kick in the 92nd minute. 92 minutes into the match, NYC United's Ali Cengiz Peykan broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Felipinho Amorim took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Domingo Bide. Domingo Bide dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3.
