Gabriel Ascaso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. João Francisco Barreto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Omar Toledo in the 28th minute of the match. In the 38th minute Adria Bielsa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Francisco Barreto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. João Francisco Barreto came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Spain's David Aranda. But to his dismay, David Aranda quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. João Francisco Barreto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adria Bielsa, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Komen Schotte was the one to do the kick off. João Francisco Barreto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adria Bielsa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gabriel Ascaso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgard Teles in the 65th minute of the match. 69 minutes into the match, Edgard Teles had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gabriel Ascaso.
