Alfredo Azeari made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. SHIZUOKA FC's Alfredo Azeari played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Toni Mauzer in the 8th minute of play. Alfredo Azeari made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damir Pongrac in the 9th minute of play. 14 minutes into the match, SHIZUOKA FC's goal looked a bit too open when Toni Mauzer came free, but Alfredo Azeari reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alfredo Azeari made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Dinko Stankovic sent off a good shot on target. 17 minutes into the game, Damir Pongrac recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Alfredo Azeari. Damir Pongrac showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. In the 20th minute, Croatia's Martin Bosak ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Alfredo Azeari. Alfredo Azeari yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. Alfredo Azeari made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Neven Culina sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Toni Mauzer in the 25th minute of play forced SHIZUOKA FC's goalkeeper Alfredo Azeari to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alfredo Azeari made an important save on a dangerous shot by Damir Pongrac in the 27th minute. In the 28th minute, Croatia's Toni Mauzer ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Alfredo Azeari. Alfredo Azeari yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-0. With a little luck, SHIZUOKA FC's Alfredo Azeari got control of the ball when Toni Mauzer tried to sneak it across the goal line. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Casimiro Telo to strike the kick off in the second half. A throw-in in the 54th minute of the game was made by Teo Gudelj with Eduard Kostelac as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. When Andres Cuartio fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SHIZUOKA FC's protests and gave Andres Cuartio a yellow card for diving instead. In the 54th minute, one of SHIZUOKA FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for SHIZUOKA FC. In the 56th minute there was a penalty for Croatia. Toni Mauzer stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Alfredo Azeari. 6-0. When Victorino Senen fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SHIZUOKA FC's protests and gave Victorino Senen a yellow card for diving instead. Victorino Senen hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Teo Gudelj got a throw-in 63 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Eduard Kostelac. Alfredo Azeari took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damir Pongrac, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 65th minute, Toni Mauzer made a precise shot to the right of Alfredo Azeari. SHIZUOKA FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-0. In the 69th minute, Teo Gudelj hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 72 minutes into the match, SHIZUOKA FC's goal looked a bit too open when Toni Mauzer came free, but Alfredo Azeari reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 98 minutes of play, Croatia's Toni Mauzer made it 8-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alfredo Azeari was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the referee ended the match the Croatia players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
