In the 8th minute Caner Parshan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lázaro Galsino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arnout Reekers stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Facundo Torres's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. Jorge Errando made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 14th minute of play. Jorge Errando took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Caner Parshan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Gustaaf Groeneveldt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Errando having to interfere. Jorge Errando was a little too slow when Gustaaf Groeneveldt got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 23rd minute. The score was now 1-0. In the 25th match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Egbert Nijveldt to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Facundo Torres in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arnout Reekers prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 39th minute Lars Meesters shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge Errando saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 40 minutes had been played when some careless play by KIRICOCHO FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Netherlands's corner Lars Meesters fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jorge Errando quite easily take care of the ball. David Eikelkamp hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lázaro Galsino, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.
