In the 22nd minute Frans Van Caubergen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 29 minutes into the match, Silver Squad AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Waud De Geyter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 39th minute of play forced Silver Squad AFC's goalkeeper Waud De Geyter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arnout Reekers made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Loid De Keuster sent off a good shot on target. Arnout Reekers stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Benjamin Carberry's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Benjamin Carberry stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Waud De Geyter was out of position in the 71 minute of play, and Lars Meesters capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Lars Meesters really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3. Bror Litenboks made in the 77th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Netherlands's Mathijn Doctor. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frans Van Caubergen in the 78th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Egbert Nijveldt hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Henrik Ooms's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arnout Reekers read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. Waud De Geyter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wim Wilmes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Waud De Geyter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 96th minute of play.
