Dionisio Iyan was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Dionisio Iyan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bart Zomerhuis, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabríel Fernández in the 35th minute of play. The Netherlands fans' excitement grew in the 39th match minute when Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Telecaster's goalkeeper Dionisio Iyan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 61 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Stipe Pačić came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The ball had pretty good speed, but Dionisio Iyan firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 76th minute David Eikelkamp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dionisio Iyan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Gijsbert ter Kruimer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
