When Joar Bergfeldt fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Team Rocco's protests and gave Joar Bergfeldt a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Team Rocco getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Joar Bergfeldt hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 19th minute of play forced Team Rocco's goalkeeper Sven-Edvin Mårtensson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Team Rocco's Sven-Edvin Mårtensson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 21st minute of play. In the 26th minute, Gustaaf Groeneveldt left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Netherlands fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Gustaaf Groeneveldt might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sven-Edvin Mårtensson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gustaaf Groeneveldt ran back to his position shaking his head. Gustaaf Groeneveldt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sven-Edvin Mårtensson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. Sven-Edvin Mårtensson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. 34 minutes into the match, Team Rocco's goal looked a bit too open when Lars Meesters came free, but Sven-Edvin Mårtensson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 39 minutes, Gustaaf Groeneveldt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gustaaf Groeneveldt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joel Lundström to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Vincent Olofsson came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Göran Unesson in the 58th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sven-Edvin Mårtensson. That made the score 1-2 after 62 minutes of play. With an all-out effort, Netherlands's Sven-Edvin Mårtensson threw himself towards the right post 66 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Wim Wilmes, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When Lars Meesters came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lars Meesters couldn't finish the play. Team Rocco's Sven-Edvin Mårtensson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Team Rocco from getting a goal against them. If Lars Meesters had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 83 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Göran Unesson came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alfred Samuelsson took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arnout Reekers. Arnout Reekers dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. 90 minutes into the match, Wim Wilmes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sven-Edvin Mårtensson. Team Rocco's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wim Wilmes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. After a rather tough play, Team Rocco's Mark Eliasson got a free kick in the 95th minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Netherlands walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
