Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Hannover Football Club's Dadá Madureira started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Hannover Football Club booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frank Sachs didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hannover Football Club's Roberto Vasconcelos got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tommy Kahn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jean Messias in the 11th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Dadá Madureira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hannover Football Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Dadá Madureira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tommy Kahn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hannover Football Club's Édouard Mendy proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Hannover Football Club from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Roberto Vasconcelos in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tommy Kahn prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roberto Vasconcelos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 35th match minute, Hannover Football Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jean Messias to maneuver through the defense. If Albin Holweck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Édouard Mendy made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Frank Sachs sent off a good shot on target. 38 minutes had been played when some careless play by Hannover Football Club's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Frank Sachs was slow to take the kick. During this time Germany's players had a chance to rest. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dadá Madureira in the 43rd minute of play forced Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 47th minute Dadá Madureira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jean Messias, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. Roberto Vasconcelos might have been able to make a better finish in the 48th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tommy Kahn. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Roberto Vasconcelos ran back to his position shaking his head. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
With a little luck, Germany's Tommy Kahn got control of the ball when Roberto Vasconcelos tried to sneak it across the goal line. 58 minutes into the match, Hannover Football Club's goal looked a bit too open when Frank Sachs came free, but Édouard Mendy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Dráusio Mendes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hannover Football Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Dráusio Mendes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roberto Vasconcelos got free with Tommy Kahn in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 77 minutes, Sven Krakouer mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Germany and the Hannover Football Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Hannover Football Club booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sven Krakouer didn't get a good kick on the ball. When João Francisco Fonseca fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hannover Football Club's protests and gave João Francisco Fonseca a yellow card for diving instead.
