Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Emanuel Ogășanu started the match with the kick off. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 2nd minute, but Wilson Amorim got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Portugal hanging dry this time. In the 10th minute, Angelo Milanese left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sydney FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. In the 14th minute, Guy Rothe reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Wilson Amorim. The goal made the score 2-0. 17 minutes into the match, Sydney FC's goal looked a bit too open when Felipe Barreto came free, but Sebastian Titz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viriato Moura in the 19th minute of play forced Sydney FC's goalkeeper Sebastian Titz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Felipe Barreto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sebastian Titz was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guy Rothe in the 23rd minute of play. Viriato Moura fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastian Titz having to interfere. Sebastian Titz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felipe Barreto in the 47th minute of the match.

Sydney FC's Per Stiig Beisel was substituted for Bjarne Nievelstein. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Viriato Moura was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, Sydney FC's Sebastian Titz got control of the ball when Rodolfo Miranda tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Felipe Barreto kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Sebastian Titz. That made the score 2-1 in the 54 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guy Rothe in the 66th minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sebastian Titz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viriato Moura, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Sebastian Titz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Viriato Moura, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Portugal's Felipinho Amorim was substituted for Felipe Barreto. In the 76th minute, Felipinho Amorim ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sebastian Titz was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Felipinho Amorim blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sebastian Titz having to make a save. 85 minutes into the match, Sydney FC's goalkeeper Sebastian Titz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felipinho Amorim. Wilson Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emanuel Ogășanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sebastian Titz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Felipinho Amorim's shot from short distance in the 96th minute. When the referee ended the match the Sydney FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
