In the 6th minute Zaccheo Andolina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martin Crețu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 7 minutes into the match, Stiinta-Univ.'s goal looked a bit too open when Sigfrido Auletta came free, but Martin Crețu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 14thth minute of the game Zaccheo Andolina who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Stiinta-Univ.'s Martin Crețu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Flavio Vittori took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Shi Ming Sheng, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aurel Panait got free with Flavio Vittori in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 18 minutes into the match, Valeriu Morovan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Flavio Vittori. Italy's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Valeriu Morovan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Flavio Vittori showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Shi Ming Sheng, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 29th minute of play forced Stiinta-Univ.'s goalkeeper Martin Crețu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Martin Crețu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 31st minute of the match. Italy's supporters rose to their feet, but Zaccheo Andolina was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Martin Crețu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 45th match minute, Stiinta-Univ. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vágner Vargas to maneuver through the defense. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Flavio Vittori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Shi Ming Sheng in the 56th minute of play. 57 minutes into the match, Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Okan Koc came free, but Flavio Vittori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. But to his dismay, Muhammet Altın quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. 93 minutes into the match, Italy's Adriano Curto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Martin Crețu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Flavio Vittori showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Muhammet Altın in the 96th minute of the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the Italy players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Stiinta-Univ..
