When Zbyszko Cupial came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Canastro FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zbyszko Cupial couldn't finish the play. Vladimir Miheev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Netherlands's Arnout Reekers got control of the ball when João Pedro Silva tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 36 minutes of play, Netherlands's Wim Wilmes made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vladimir Miheev was left in no man's land by his defense there! Canastro FC's Wlodzimierz Absolwent got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 43rd minute of play forced Canastro FC's goalkeeper Vladimir Miheev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. João Pedro Silva was the one to do the kick off. Canastro FC's Vladimir Miheev proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Canastro FC from getting a goal against them. After 58 minutes Netherlands's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Valter Abreu who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Valter Abreu almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Netherlands's Arnout Reekers did a great save. In the 59th match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bas Tuitert to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marquinhos Nogueira during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Canastro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marquinhos Nogueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 66th minute of the match Lars Meesters sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vladimir Miheev skillfully saved the ball. When the match had gone on for 69 minutes, David Eikelkamp took a quick shot and it went in 3-2 without a chance for Vladimir Miheev to make any attempt to save it. 74 minutes into the match, Canastro FC's goalkeeper Vladimir Miheev had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt. Vladimir Miheev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 76th minute of play. Vladimir Miheev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. In the 83rd minute, David Eikelkamp reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Vladimir Miheev. The goal made the score 3-3. In the 87th minute João Pedro Silva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 93 minutes Canastro FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gijsbert ter Kruimer who took care of the corner kick. Netherlands were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Canastro FC to leave the ground with a draw.
