Ulvi Gencal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Arnout Reekers made a huge save. In the 26th minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl Martin Bell Burnell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alvinegro de Tupã's Karl Martin Bell Burnell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wim Wilmes in the 27th minute of play. If Gijsbert ter Kruimer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alvinegro de Tupã's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Åke Hellström in the 31st minute. After taking down the ball on Alvinegro de Tupã's corner Åke Hellström fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Arnout Reekers quite easily take care of the ball. In the 32nd minute, Konrad Ekström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alvinegro de Tupã's Karl Martin Bell Burnell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 34th minute of play. Karl Martin Bell Burnell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 38th minute of play. Netherlands were awarded a corner in the 39th minute after Alvinegro de Tupã's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gijsbert ter Kruimer took the corner. A collision led to Alvinegro de Tupã getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Ulvi Gencal hit a great ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gijsbert ter Kruimer made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Alvinegro de Tupã's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Karl Martin Bell Burnell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Karl Martin Bell Burnell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wim Wilmes in the 55th minute of the match. With a little luck, Alvinegro de Tupã's Karl Martin Bell Burnell got control of the ball when Gustaaf Groeneveldt tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gustaaf Groeneveldt scored 1-2 in the 84th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Karl Martin Bell Burnell, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 88th minute of play forced Alvinegro de Tupã's goalkeeper Karl Martin Bell Burnell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
