In the 5th match minute, Vasco FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Virgílio Custódio to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Frank Sachs in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Franklin Bittencourt saved Vasco FC from getting behind. If Guilherme Heidemann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Franklin Bittencourt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Frank Sachs's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. Frank Sachs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Vasco FC's Franklin Bittencourt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frank Sachs in the 19th minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Albin Holweck ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Franklin Bittencourt was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Frank Sachs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Vasco FC's Guilherme Heidemann slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tommy Kahn. That made the score 1-1 after 28 minutes of play. Franklin Bittencourt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Sachs in the 32nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Germany's Chris Mergenthaler got a free kick in the 35th minute. If Frank Sachs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 41 minutes into the game, Vasco FC's Carlos Fernando Silveira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tommy Kahn made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Franklin Bittencourt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frank Sachs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Guilherme Heidemann was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Moise Zgrăbunţa made a precise shot to the right of Tommy Kahn. Germany's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. When Frank Sachs came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Germany fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frank Sachs couldn't finish the play. 65 minutes into the game, Carlos Fernando Silveira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Tommy Kahn was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Germany booed when Vasco FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Moise Zgrăbunţa didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 70th minute, Wanderson Urbano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Frank Sachs recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carlos Fernando Silveira struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Tommy Kahn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vasco FC. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Sachs in the 82nd minute of play forced Vasco FC's goalkeeper Franklin Bittencourt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Frank Sachs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guilherme Heidemann hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Vasco FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
