If Ersen Bumba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bruno Bastos kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Wilson Amorim made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ersen Bumba in the 39th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Pimentel to make the kick off. Fabricio Andrade hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. 53 minutes into the game, Ersen Bumba threw the ball into play from the sideline. Ersen Bumba might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wilson Amorim. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ersen Bumba ran back to his position shaking his head. If Ersen Bumba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Waclaw Hajder during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Waclaw Hajder hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. A collision led to ЧΙ ƝƖ̇ƘƠMЄƊƖ̇ƛ ƑƘ getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Miroslaw Majorski hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Bruno Bastos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Portugal's supporters rose to their feet, but Bruno Bastos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Baptista breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Despite being the better team, ЧΙ ƝƖ̇ƘƠMЄƊƖ̇ƛ ƑƘ failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
