Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Desiderio Salvadore in the 28th minute of the match. Fernan Ralondo made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent off a good shot on target. 35 minutes into the game, Gijsbert ter Kruimer cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Fernan Ralondo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thibau Van Mellaert in the 39th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Venezia FC's Fernan Ralondo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 41st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Netherlands's Bas Tuitert got a free kick in the 44th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gijsbert ter Kruimer made a kick off. Angel Quinito hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Diego Frasquito got free with Arnout Reekers in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Filip Hodne charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Filip Hodne the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 61st match minute, Venezia FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filip Hodne to maneuver through the defense. 64 minutes into the match, Angel Guillelmus notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Netherlands's Arnout Reekers. Arnout Reekers was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 70th minute Netherlands were awarded a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Netherlands's corner Gijsbert ter Kruimer fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Fernan Ralondo quite easily take care of the ball. The Netherlands fans' excitement grew in the 71st match minute when Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 74 minutes into the game, Egbert Nijveldt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Netherlands's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezia FC the free kick. After 74 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Netherlands! Arnout Reekers had in the 75thth minute some difficulties stopping Thibau Van Mellaert's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 75 minutes into the match, Thibau Van Mellaert had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arnout Reekers. Netherlands's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Thibau Van Mellaert was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. If Thibau Van Mellaert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Diego Frasquito struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Arnout Reekers didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezia FC. 91 minutes into the game, Angel Quinito was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezia FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Netherlands the free kick. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Venezia FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Angel Quinito didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 93rd minute, Venezia FC's Thibau Van Mellaert ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Arnout Reekers. Arnout Reekers yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-3. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Venezia FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
