In the 19th minute Frank Sachs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cauã Lopes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Germany were awarded a corner in the 20th minute after 11 Schéin Männer's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Frank Sachs took the corner. The corner led Germany's Frank Sachs to fire away a dangerous shot which Cauã Lopes despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Germany's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Frank Sachs in the 21st minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that 于竞斐 couldn't finish the play. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 于竞斐, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 45th minute, 于竞斐 hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Frank Sachs's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 62ndth minute, Cauã Lopes skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling 于竞斐 in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tommy Kahn prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cauã Lopes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank Sachs, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. After having played for 70 minutes, 于竞斐 managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. 11 Schéin Männer's supporters crossed their fingers, but 于竞斐 was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A sloppy throw-in by Ivo Projkov in the 72nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Germany's Willy Stieler. In the 77th match minute, Germany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adrian Dreifuss to maneuver through the defense. 于竞斐 sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 80th minute, Ivo Projkov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sven Krakouer was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 86 minutes into the match. 86 minutes into the game, one of Germany:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 11 Schéin Männer's Ralf Majerus got his second yellow card of the match in the 91st minute.
