Ariel Balboa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gijsbert ter Kruimer's shot from short distance in the 7th minute. Ariel Balboa came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer. But to his dismay, Gijsbert ter Kruimer quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. If Estevan Espínola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Yuan Zhen Lin hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Rafael Demanet kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Gijsbert ter Kruimer took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 17th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ariel Balboa. U. de Tarapacá's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Wim Wilmes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yuan Zhen Lin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ariel Balboa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wim Wilmes's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. In the 34th minute, David Eikelkamp hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ariel Balboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lars Meesters in the 38th minute of the match. David Eikelkamp hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. In the 39th minute, Norberto Mangueira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wim Wilmes in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ariel Balboa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 46th minute, Gustaaf Groeneveldt made a precise shot to the right of Ariel Balboa. U. de Tarapacá's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gijsbert ter Kruimer made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wim Wilmes got free with Ariel Balboa in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 53rd match minute, U. de Tarapacá was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Xaime Morales to maneuver through the defense. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Domingo Barcena in the 58th minute of play. Arnout Reekers didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Domingo Barcena went, in the 61st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. U. de Tarapacá's Ariel Balboa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save U. de Tarapacá from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice moves Wim Wilmes could shoot a difficult shot in the 72nd minute, which Ariel Balboa however easily saved by the left post. Netherlands were awarded a corner in the 73th minute after U. de Tarapacá's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gijsbert ter Kruimer took the corner. After taking down the ball on Netherlands's corner Gijsbert ter Kruimer fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ariel Balboa quite easily take care of the ball. In the 79th minute Domingo Barcena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Domingo Barcena in the 81st minute of the match. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Orfilio Orbañanos, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. A well-hit corner resulted in Estevan Espínola heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Ariel Balboa was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Gijsbert ter Kruimer showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-4 in the 88 minute of play. In the 92nd minute, U. de Tarapacá's Norberto Mangueira seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Norberto Mangueira the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of U. de Tarapacá protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Norberto Mangueira had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 92nd minute of the game. One of U. de Tarapacá:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Netherlands:s goal. When the match was over Netherlands could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than U. de Tarapacá throughout the match.
