In the 5th minute Angelino Tomi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Natalio Ricart saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Natalio Ricart showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Angelino Tomi in the 7th minute of the match. Uriel Vachon's late challenge caught a Deportivo Iguazu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Uriel Vachon helped the player get up and apologised. In the 7th minute, Uriel Vachon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 13 minutes into the game, Roman Bazkoare cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Natalio Ricart was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Natalio Ricart made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roman Bazkoare in the 16th minute of play. After 22 minutes, Angelino Tomi made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Godoy Cruz's Natalio Ricart tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Natalio Ricart took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dalmacio Ponc, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 31st minute Marcelino Quintyn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Natalio Ricart saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 43 minutes into the game, Andres Martxel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Deportivo Iguazu's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Godoy Cruz the free kick. Andres Martxel kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. When Fausto Iraunkor came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Godoy Cruz fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fausto Iraunkor couldn't finish the play. 47 minutes into the game, Deportivo Iguazu's Roman Bazkoare nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Natalio Ricart made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. After the first half Deportivo Iguazu were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fausto Iraunkor to strike the kick off in the second half. After 56 minutes of play, Deportivo Iguazu's Angelino Tomi made it 0-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Natalio Ricart was left in no man's land by his defense there! Marcelino Quintyn could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Natalio Ricart made a huge save. Natalio Ricart made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Roman Bazkoare sent off a good shot on target. In the 69th minute, Angelino Tomi made a precise shot to the right of Natalio Ricart. Godoy Cruz's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-7. Andres Martxel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Natalio Ricart tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Angelino Tomi who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 81stth minute tested the skills of Natalio Ricart when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 84th minute, Marcelino Quintyn ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Natalio Ricart was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-9. Angelino Tomi struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Natalio Ricart didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deportivo Iguazu. 91 minutes into the match, Marcelino Quintyn dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Natalio Ricart, 0-10. An unexpectedly hard shot by Angelino Tomi in the 97th minute of play forced Godoy Cruz's goalkeeper Natalio Ricart to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match was over Deportivo Iguazu could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Godoy Cruz throughout the match.
