In the 6th minute Camille Baume shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gavino Belarmo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the France defense, Dante Rafe kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Maxime Durand. The France fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Maxime Durand should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dante Rafe in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Maxime Durand saved France from getting behind. After 20 minutes of play, Metapalo FC's Dante Rafe made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Maxime Durand was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 26th minute, France's Maxence Durand seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Maxence Durand the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of France protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Maxence Durand had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 25th minute, one of France:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for France. Maxime Durand had in the 27thth minute some difficulties stopping Jacinto Baumar's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 29 minutes into the match, Metapalo FC's goalkeeper Gavino Belarmo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Frank Peletier. 36 minutes into the game, Metapalo FC's Dante Rafe nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Maxime Durand made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Jean Bombelles made in the 42nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Metapalo FC's Jorge Bermudez. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Gavino Belarmo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Camille Baume, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. France were awarded a corner in the 75th minute after Metapalo FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. David Barbier took the corner. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Metapalo FC's goalie and right to Jean Bombelles. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Metapalo FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Silvio Jobo was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 80th minute. Metapalo FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Maxime Durand was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Dante Rafe showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-5 in the 81 minute of play. France's Maxime Durand proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save France from getting a goal against them. Arsenio Loramendi was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 89th minute. Metapalo FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The France manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Metapalo FC to win.
