After a defensive mix-up in Almazarrón's zone, Gustaaf Groeneveldt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Baudelio Pacheco came out of the goal and Gustaaf Groeneveldt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Baudelio Pacheco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 9th minute of play. In the 12th minute of the match, Archibaldo Candamil got a very nice opportunity to score, but Arnout Reekers was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Thanks to some nice moves Archibaldo Candamil could shoot a difficult shot in the 17th minute, which Arnout Reekers however easily saved by the left post. In the 20th minute, Gustaaf Groeneveldt made a precise shot to the right of Baudelio Pacheco. Almazarrón's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Gustaaf Groeneveldt blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Baudelio Pacheco having to make a save. 26 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Archibaldo Candamil came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Baudelio Pacheco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Arnout Reekers made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Archibaldo Candamil sent off a good shot on target. In the 32nd minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baudelio Pacheco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Netherlands getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Bas Tuitert hit a great ball. Gijsbert ter Kruimer struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Baudelio Pacheco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands. 41 minutes into the match, Netherlands's Wim Wilmes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Baudelio Pacheco narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Wim Wilmes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Baudelio Pacheco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gijsbert ter Kruimer made a kick off. In the 51st minute, Wim Wilmes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aurelio Vodanovic, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Baudelio Pacheco made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wim Wilmes in the 58th minute. Baudelio Pacheco was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Gijsbert ter Kruimer showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-2 in the 60 minute of play. Almazarrón's Cedro Bouzon was substituted for Astrit Melisarov. Wim Wilmes scored 0-3 in the 89th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Baudelio Pacheco, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 93 minutes into the match, Archibaldo Candamil notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Netherlands's Arnout Reekers. Arnout Reekers was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Gijsbert ter Kruimer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Netherlands's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
