With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pat Eggers in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tommy Kahn saved Germany from getting behind. The long shot by Alfred Parolini in the 33rd minute really tested Tommy Kahn's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Willy Stieler hit a great ball. In the 40th minute, Pat Eggers made a precise shot to the right of Tommy Kahn. Germany's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. 45 minutes into the game, Pat Eggers cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Tommy Kahn was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-1 at half-time.

Liver Bird's Ross Flückiger was substituted for Alfred Parolini. Liver Bird's Dimitris Rapsopodis was substituted for Pat Eggers. Liver Bird's Jonathan Lamontagne was substituted for Clinton Werfel. Germany's Tommy Kahn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dimitris Rapsopodis in the 83rd minute of play. The supporters of Germany booed when Liver Bird was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Russell Huther didn't get a good kick on the ball.
