Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Orfilio Orbañanos started the match with the kick off. Orfilio Orbañanos might have been able to make a better finish in the 3rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Arnout Reekers. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Orfilio Orbañanos ran back to his position shaking his head. 3 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Orfilio Orbañanos. Ariel Balboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. In the 10th minute David Eikelkamp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ariel Balboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 13 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Bas Tuitert. In the 17th minute Domingo Barcena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to U. de Tarapacá getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Muharrem Duman hit a great ball. Domingo Barcena kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Ariel Balboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 35th minute of play. In the 38th minute of the game Gust Ennemans made a throw-in which Gustaaf Groeneveldt played forward. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute Lars Meesters shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ariel Balboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Netherlands were awarded a corner in the 57th minute after U. de Tarapacá's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gijsbert ter Kruimer took the corner. After 58 played minutes U. de Tarapacá got a freekick which was hit by León Philippi. With a little luck, U. de Tarapacá's Ariel Balboa got control of the ball when Wim Wilmes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Arnout Reekers stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Orfilio Orbañanos's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. Ariel Balboa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 63rd minute. The supporters of U. de Tarapacá booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gust Ennemans didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Gijsbert ter Kruimer kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ariel Balboa. That made the score 0-2 in the 80 minute of play. Netherlands's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
