After a rather tough play, CANARINHOS DE ALCAINS's Jorge Esteves got a free kick in the 24th minute. In the 26th minute Kyle Cox shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but António Brochado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 28 minutes into the game, England's Kyle Cox nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. António Brochado made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. England's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Micah Macdonald in the 32nd minute. A well-hit corner resulted in Quinn Holmes heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Khalid Kennedy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorge Esteves, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. 41 minutes into the match, England's goalkeeper Khalid Kennedy had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luís Junqueira. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kyle Cox was the one to do the kick off. In the 57th minute, England's Kyle Cox ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind António Brochado. António Brochado yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-3. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kyle Cox in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck António Brochado prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 63rd match minute, England was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Caelan Hayes to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ivo Pinho during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Micah Macdonald received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. António Brochado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. António Brochado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kyle Cox, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laureano Rego in the 97th minute of play forced England's goalkeeper Khalid Kennedy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. England's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
