In the 5th minute, Mauro Cesario ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Khalid Kennedy was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. 16 minutes into the game, Leopoldo Henrico recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Khalid Kennedy. Leopoldo Henrico showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. After 40 played minutes Vilma Palma got a freekick which was hit by Leopoldo Henrico. 41 minutes into the match, Vilma Palma's goal looked a bit too open when Kyle Cox came free, but Ronaldão Penha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of England booed when Vilma Palma was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcelo Huly didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

Khalid Kennedy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leopoldo Henrico in the 89th minute of the match. Micah Macdonald took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ronaldão Penha. Ronaldão Penha dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. England's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
