The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 2 played minutes The Obscurials got a freekick which was hit by Nelson Wright. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felipe Barreto got free with Safet Hands in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Portugal's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Felipe Barreto in the 21st minute. Fabricio Andrade made a great header on Portugal's corner, it was just that The Obscurials's Safet Hands managed to reach the ball for a save. 28 minutes into the game, The Obscurials's Adriano Ribeiro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wilson Amorim made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. In the 31st minute, Felipe Barreto reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Safet Hands. The goal made the score 2-2. Adriano Ribeiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Safet Hands didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 46th minute, which inside left pole to 3-2.

The Obscurials's Anders Westerstrand got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 52 played minutes Portugal got a freekick which was hit by Faustino Almeida. 53 minutes into the match, Adriano Ribeiro notched a goal, 3-3, to the right of Portugal's Wilson Amorim. Wilson Amorim was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 56 played minutes Portugal got a freekick which was hit by Faustino Almeida. Safet Hands stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bartolomeu Dias's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. The audience was convinced that Bartolomeu Dias's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Safet Hands was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. When the match had gone on for 88 minutes, Bartolomeu Dias put it in 4-5 from a short distance just to the right of Safet Hands.
