Faustão Terra kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. After having played for 12 minutes, Major Barna managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hungary's supporters crossed their fingers, but Major Barna was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 14 minutes into the game, Hungary's Antal Valentin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Paulo Leão made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. When Antal Valentin came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Hungary fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antal Valentin couldn't finish the play. In the 21st minute of the match, Valdomiro Luz tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Fodor Daniel saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. If Major Barna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Misericordia EC's Paulo Leão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Balazs Lajos in the 27th minute of play. After some careless play in the Hungary defense, Valdomiro Luz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fodor Daniel. The Hungary fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fodor Daniel should have stopped the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Valdomiro Luz got free with Fodor Daniel in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 39th minute Misericordia EC were awarded a corner. Sergio-Roberto Dinamite went to the cornerflag to take it. Aníbal Goiano was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Paulo Leão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antal Valentin, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Paulo Leão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Major Barna in the 46th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Hungary's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sergio-Roberto Dinamite was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. Fodor Daniel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zico Maravilha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Misericordia EC getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Faustão Terra hit a great ball. In the 91st minute, Dário Ribeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Misericordia EC had won after a very even match.
