After 8 minutes of play, Denmark's Chris Nygaard made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Witomir Beninda was left in no man's land by his defense there! Bertram Svenningsen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Witomir Beninda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bertram Svenningsen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Witomir Beninda having to interfere. A sloppy throw-in by Aysan Tanzer in the 33rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Denmark's Simon Bendtsen. Florian Siembab charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Florian Siembab the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 38th minute, Lars Steen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chris Nygaard in the 40th minute of play forced The Fighting Mongooses FC's goalkeeper Witomir Beninda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Keld Paulsen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustaw Flis in the 45th minute of play. Lars Steen kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Witomir Beninda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chris Nygaard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Denmark were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gustaw Flis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, The Fighting Mongooses FC's Witomir Beninda got control of the ball when Chris Nygaard tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 62nd minute Lech Modrzewski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Keld Paulsen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Denmark's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chris Nygaard was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Denmark's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
