The crowd rose to their feet as Seyfettin Sadak kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Arnout Reekers. That made the score 1-1 in the 21 minute of play. 36 minutes into the match, R.B Leipzig's goal looked a bit too open when Lars Meesters came free, but Cyprian Zielinski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arnout Reekers made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Seyfettin Sadak sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Netherlands's David Eikelkamp got a free kick in the 46th minute. Gust Ennemans hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Seyfettin Sadak was the one to do the kick off. Cyprian Zielinski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lars Meesters, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. A collision led to R.B Leipzig getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Kiatichai Nuntanamaneekul hit a great ball. The supporters of Netherlands booed when R.B Leipzig was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Osoitz Cascajares didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gijsbert ter Kruimer got free with Cyprian Zielinski in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Wim Wilmes scored 1-2 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cyprian Zielinski, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Cyprian Zielinski made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Wim Wilmes sent off a good shot on target. Simo Laht's late challenge caught a Netherlands's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Simo Laht helped the player get up and apologised. After 90 played minutes R.B Leipzig got a freekick which was hit by Simo Laht. Gustaaf Groeneveldt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Cyprian Zielinski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
