When the match clock showed 14 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Frank Sachs sped through Tours Football Club's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Lech Blochowiak. 18 minutes into the game, Willy Stieler threw the ball into play from the sideline. Tommy Kahn made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Faustin Hamet sent off a good shot on target. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Frank Sachs to strike the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Tours Football Club's goalkeeper Lech Blochowiak had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Frank Sachs.
