If Raul Leal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raul Leal in the 22nd minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. SC Freiburg 09's Renato Candal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 24th minute of play. After 31 played minutes SC Freiburg 09 got a freekick which was hit by Serafim Garcez. Raul Leal who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 33rdth minute tested the skills of Arnout Reekers when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a rather tough play, SC Freiburg 09's Filipe Miguéis got a free kick in the 38th minute. Mehmet Ferit İsmet charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mehmet Ferit İsmet the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When Raul Leal came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the SC Freiburg 09 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raul Leal couldn't finish the play. In the 71stth minute of the game Wim Wilmes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Freiburg 09's Renato Candal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 76 minutes into the match, SC Freiburg 09's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Renato Candal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. SC Freiburg 09's Renato Candal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save SC Freiburg 09 from getting a goal against them. In the 95th minute Raul Leal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match was over Netherlands could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than SC Freiburg 09 throughout the match.
